These are my supplements

As I started the ketogenic diet I had to make some changes in my way of eating. As I mentioned in other articles, based on my condition, I had nothing to lose and I decided to give the doctors on YouTube a chance. According to the recommendation of various doctors I decided on my own to use the following supplements and vitamins. If you want to find more information about these supplements, please make your own research. Again, I am not a nutritionist and not a doctor and all my recommendations are based on my own experience alone. This is a trial of 1 and based on that I give my suggestions. I only can say, that I feel in my body a drastic change for the better. I feel that I have great energy, I am focused all the time and the most important - I feel a feeling of joy and happiness inside.

The winner of this list: Vitamin D

Normally we get vitamin D from the sun. However, the modern life forced us to be indoors. Vitamin D is a nutrient that also functions as a hormone in the body. As part of my routine I sit outdoors every single day for at least 20 minutes in the morning with my arms and legs exposed - not tanning, but absorbing the sun. You may think that you get enough, but how much is enough?  I take 5,000 IU/day of vitamin D, and eat foods rich in vitamin D such as fatty fish.

Second on the list: Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple Cider Vinegar does not have nutrients. What it does - it changes our body from being alkaline to being acidic. It fights inflammation, help manage blood glucose, reduces blood pressure, triglycerides and total cholesterol. The most important thing: because it contains acetic acid it improves ketosis. You get more ketones in your blood! I drink 2-3 tablespoons every morning with some water.

Magnesium

Magnesium helps maintain normal muscle and nerve function - remember - the heart is a muscle - therefore it helps maintain normal heart rhythm and  builds strong bones. A deficiency in magnesium can cause heart palpitations, sleep problems, anxiety, muscle cramps, nausea. Besides supplementing with Magnesium pills everyday, I eat everyday leafy greens such as spinach. Spinach is also a great source of vitamin A, C, K and iron.

MCT Oil

People ask if MCT oil is better than coconut oil. My opinion is as comparing air for breathing to oxygen. MCT oil is so powerful! It helps think more clearly, have more energy, improve your mood, balance hormone level and much more. I add it everyday to my morning coffee.

Coconut Oil

Coconut oil enhances every bodily system. It boost immunity, stabilizes hormones, blood sugar levels and boosts the cellular healing process. It also stimulates the thyroid and reduces stress on the liver, pancreas and the digestive system.

Fish Oil

This is a great way to increase the consumption of Omega-3 oils. Using fish oil supplements in conjunction with the ketogenic diet can help lower your triglycerides, especially if you already have elevated levels.  There are so many benefits of fish oil:  can improve symptoms of ADHD, can prevent brain atrophy in older adults, reduce anxiety, improves survival rates for heart attack victims, helps fight depression, diabetes, eye disorders and according to some studies it is an effective stand-alone therapy in natural cancer treatment and so much more.
